I have been trying to give pinterest a chance. This is because of the amount of times pinterest is referenced in my day to day life; not by me of course, but, it is constantly being mentioned by my coworkers. And the reason I feel I should be active on pinterest is because its all so ugly. Everyone that I follow (which is generally my facebook friends who have pinterest & follow me first) is enamored by what they find on this site, as well as what they post— but they rarely post non repinned things I have observed. But its all so… I mean they clearly have never been made aware of blogs like swissmiss, designsponge, cupofjo, or any number of the crafty cute lds chicks who inhabit the diy blogosphere (omg. that last bit… even cracks me up). The people (okay they are all ladies, so the gals I mean) who are addicted to pinterest post cutesy sayings in hideous fonts decoupaged on cheap canvases and incredibly hard “diy” projects with captions like “gotta do this! Instructions here.” I mean crafts that only the ladies on those craft shows on Pbs can pull off if they weren’t too busy quilting or bedazzling denim shirts. The other things people post are memes (GROSS, THAT IS WHAT TUMBLR IS FOR, I MEAN ONLY IF YOURE LIKE 13, which these gals are not), clothes that aren’t interesting and ugly art.
I want to have a precense on pinterest because I want all of these ladies to know I could be their creative savior. I want them to see I have the best of tastes. They could all learn so much from me. Even if all I teach them is w-w-w-dot-the-satorialist-dot-com.
I also just want to be excited about it, like everyone else. And to know whatever pins my coworkers are talking about (only sort of, though.) Being an elitist is so emotionally draining and time cosuming.
I’m just so torn. Ignorance and bad taste is unflattering, but pretention is ugly and cliche.

Okay, so initially all I was going to say was the mobile pinterest site is a pain on my kindle and the only pins I ever like are Jane’s mom’s.
